Not MY Vacation!

OK! OK!!!  That last post was not one of my best efforts!  But I liked it and it made me feel good!  (Until the Phillies lost a doubleheader to the dreaded Mets today!!  GRRRRR!!)

So, time for a pre-weekend update.  The staph infection is really GONE!!  But I’m still taking meds just to be sure.  The foot pain (Charcot Foot) is still feeling MUCH better, even after mowing the lawn yesterday.  I have people coming in next week to remove 3 HUGE palm trees from our front yard! (I’m talking 80 feet tall!!)  I’ll post pics…

Next, I’m accepting quotes to have sprinklers installed and sod laid!  Right now our front yard looks like a nuclear test site from the Mohave Desert!!  I have three quotes so far, but none are acceptable!!  I have another coming on Tuesday and I think it will be a good one!  Ronaldo Gomez sounds like a guy who means business!!!  Don’t you think??

Scary News:  Overheard Mrs Serious talking on the phone to our niece about taking a trip to Europe this Autumn.  To Ireland!!  Sounds nice, right?  Well, not to ME!!  Here’s the ‘crew’ that will be going…  (and no offense to any of them!!  They just make me shudder!!!)

1. Mrs Serious’ gay friend Anthony!  He’s a 350 lb ex-monk!!
Gayer than the day is long!

2. Our niece Katie!  Nice girl.. Gonna be a teacher..  Can’t keep her mouth shut!!  LOL

3. Quinn, our nephew, who suffers from ADD and will try going anywhere and doing anything…… for 5 minutes!

4. Mrs Serious, my poor misguided wife!!!  What is she thinking????

5. And me???  I’ll be home, watching Rick Steves DVD’s!!  Hoping they packed wisely!

I hope you all have a great weekend!!  I’ll post again before the 4th!!   If you have fireworks??  Think ‘Safe and Sane’!!

That cold drink hit the spot, but I suspect it may have been spiked!  Bob…are you trying to get me tipsy?  Glad to hear your feet are on the upswing!!  I feel your pain for the landscaping.  We did all our own a few years ago, front and back yard, before we started gutting the inside of the house.  We’re insane, but it’s all starting to come together.
As for fireworks…can you have them in Westminister? We can’t have them here and it DRIVES ME BATTY!  Thank goodness we have a huge patio roof…not that we are doing anything "illegal" under there, right?
    I’m off to bed now
Have a great weekend yourself! XO~*R*~

Hey, missed you coming to visit my space!  Well, it’s fireworks season again…and that means we have to contend with one very terrified dog on the Fourth.  She goes bonkers when she hears a gun shot, so you can imagine what the neighborhood fireworks does for her.  How do your dogs like them???  As pretty as they are to watch, I still dread this time of year because of our super dry weather and all the brown, crunchy grass around here.  One spark could set everything off.  I don’t even want to think about it.  But have a happy 4th and remember why we are so lucky to live in the good old USA.

well i think that if you bring the ADD kid a portable game it might kepp him busy if you bring many games…you can blobk out the one that talks a lot…and well your gay friend can take your wife shopping…then you can explore on your own…go and have as much fun as you can…you only live once…either that or mail your ticket to me..always wanted to go there…

:o) smiles easy to give away they are free… :o) very contagious… :o) so pass one to anyone … :o) to people that you love… :o) and even to those you don’t… :o) in no time the whole world will be smiling :o)

    Hey Bob… ***looks shame-faced*** I just read your comment on Melissa’s site…  I’m feeling really bad…

I’m not a bad person really.  I have what is known as ‘Thinkbeforeyoutypeyoustoopiddoofus’ syndrome.  Apparently it’s incurable and I will be a doofus for the rest of my life.  It’s something I’ve come to terms with but it’s spills out in my comments from time to time…. you may have noticed….

Anywho’s… I’m off to give myself a good talking to and send myself to bed until I’ve thought about what I’ve done and come back when I can behave.  The ‘going to bed and thinking about what I’ve done’ thing may take 10 or so hours and I may take a long Sunday morning lie-in just to be doubly sure I’ve seen the error of my ways.  That way you’ll know I’m serious about being sorry for my last couple of comments.

Good luck with the palm trees… and have a good rest of the weekend.

P.S. I am reeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaallllllllllyyyyy sorry,,, honest!

I’d love to take one of those 80 foot palms off your hands!  Just don’t think it’d survive an Iowa winter.  As far as my van problem goes, you’ll need to go back and read my update.  I was updating while you were leaving your comments.  It’s NOT a pretty picture to say the least!

So glad to see  your feets are doing better!

Have a great weekend Bob, and thanks for stopping by my place.

First: *I* read every word of your last entry, because *I* love baseball, too. And while I admit that I’m not a Phillies fan, there’s some heartache associated with every team, isn’t there? (For the record, I’m a Twins fan and a Cubs fan.)

Next: My ex-husband’s new wife is a landscaping addict. She buys plants/mulch/flowers/other yard crap at a rate of about $100 a week. Their lawn is mowed every three days. She picks up leaves that have had the nerve to blow into their yard. My husband would prefer to pave the yard and paint it green. Or plant wild grasses and buy a goat.

    I’m somewhere in between.

And last: The trip to Ireland with the gay monk, the blabber, and the busy child? Pack some earplugs and lots of garlic. That way, you won’t have to hear them, and nobody will want you doing any talking — at all.

    Win-win!

  8. Xu says:

you could regard the trip a chance to accompany Mrs Serious, hehe.
    Great weekend:)

  9. Cindy says:

    YIKES!!

  10. Louise says:

Hey Bob! Yorkshires not that far from Ireland remember, think you should get a ticket here and let them go there hehehehe.

(((BIG HUGS))) and bright blessings xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  11. Lynn says:

So glad to hear the staph is really really gone now and that your feet are tippy-toe better, Bob!!!  Hooray!!!
And that lineup of travellers does sound a little scary to me too, but oy!  Ireland…
but Oy!  Chatty nieces and a kid with ADD!  I think I’d sneak off after they left and make my own separate trip.  It’s a big country, right?  😉
