Day of Reckoning…

For my gardeners.  Not that I would EVER fire them but after those high winds we had earlier in the week, it will be interesting to see how good of a job they do.   My front yard, rose bed, patio and especially back yard are a mess!!  Leaves, branches, Spruce and Pine needles, trash and thousands of leaves from this tree:

This old Maple is at least 100 feet tall and it’s leaves are 6" across.  Because that tree is northeast of me, my yard collects all of it’s leaves.  And I mean the ONLY yard!!

Anyhow, as usual my gardeners went above and beyond!  They even pruned my Chinese Elm without being asked.

Normally they are here for 15/20 minutes.   Today?  An hour!!

The other day of reckoning belongs to the Tampa Bay Rays.  Sure, they have a 3 games to 2 lead in the series but the Red Sox have some history going for them.  In 1986 they came back from a 3 to 1 series lead to beat the Angels.  Last year the came back from the same 3 – 1 deficit to beat Cleveland and in 2004 they were behind 3 games to 0 against the Yankees and came back to win that series IN Yankee Stadium.  So beware Rays.  Hopefully the Rays are young, naive and talented enough to rebound from Thursday night.  As for me?  I still think the Phillies can beat either team.

Becky and her friends took a trip today and saw some old castles.  New card in the camera.  Back in Florence tonight and then off to Rome.

I hope you are all enjoying a fine autumn weekend.

I had no doubt your gardeners would come through, they’re awesome. You should get them T-shirts that say "Bob’s
    Awesome Gardeners". LOL
I’ll bet Becky is having a blast. Hope you’re doing good with her away!

From all I’ve heard you’ve got the best gardeners around so I can’t say I’m surprised that they did  good job.  Looks like you’re fired up over sports again, no surprise there either.  I still look forward to some pictures from Italy!  All my best to you this weekend Bob, have a great Sunday!

Watch out, I might just come down and abduct those wonderful gardeners of yours.  Sure could use them in my yard.

  7. Sue says:

Oooh!  I love the old castles and churches of Europe!  It all makes you realize how YOUNG this country is.  It ain’t OLD over there unless it’s been around for more than 500 years!  I’d love to go back to Europe, but I can’t afford it nor do I think this is a good time to visit over there with the uncertainty of the state of things these days.  Glad she is able to make the trip and have fun.  Here’s hoping she comes back safe and sound!  AND with lots of cool pics!  Oh, and thanks for sending those cat photos on…I laughed so hard, I cried!

  8. Becca says:
