It was a wonderful week in Puerto Vallarta. Not too hot and no rain. It’s always good to get away but always nice to be home again. We got our flight straightened out, no thanks to Orbitz, and arrived right on time. I didn’t realize what a strange time difference they have there. Two hours later, which put the time somewhere between MDT and CDT. Go figure.
The airports at both ends were empty and everyone but us wore masks and plastic gloves. We did NOT get sick and spent alot of the time pointing and laughing! In fact, none of the Americans we met wore masks.
We checked into the condo and it felt like home because we knew where everything was. This was our yard!
We had some weather but it only resulted in big waves.
Here is what our beach looked like.
Oops!!! Where did that come from???? lol
See those guys on the jetty? They are fishing using handlines, like this. A rod and reel would help!
I never saw one fish caught but they kept trying.
Then there was the beach activities such as horseback riding
The infamous ‘Banana Boat’ ride (check this out)
Plus Banana Boat
We tried it a few years ago and let me tell you, it hurts!!!!
Then there is the Catmaran that the guy parks in our yard. Nice guy and we became friends!
Our first stop was at a Mexican Super WalMart. You haven’t lived until you have been to one. The employees speak ZERO English but the prices are great! We bought a weeks worth of food, plus, for $160!! We only ate out twice.
Lunch at ‘Daquri Dick’s’ ( we know the owner) and the food was GREAT!!
Here is the owner….
And our waiter!
Our other meal out was at, of all places, an Italian place with excellent food! Becky had the Fettucini Alfredo….
And I had a delicious Anchovie (embrace the taste!!!) Pizza!
Yet another waiter pic!
Our appetizer was fried Calimari!! Really good!!!
After dinner we went across the street and checked out the bronze staues and sand sculpures.
Lazy, fat dog!
The Last Supper!
But we spent most of our time ate our room. We tried to eat on the patio but the danged birds kept stealing our food when our backs were turned!
Our gardner decided it was time to cut down some coconuts
And he gave me one!!
Well, that’s about it except for a closing shot from inside the Puerto Vallarta airport
It was a Great time but as always, it’s good to be home and back with my friends. I tried to use an internet cafe there ($1.50 for an hour) but you get what you pay for.
Glad to be be back and I hope all of you are doing well!
