Earthquake, Part 2

Well, after the first main jolt, the 80+ aftershocks were nothing.  A few things fell off shelves and the water in the neighbor’s pool was sloshing around but no gas leaks or damage.  What bothers me about earthquakes is the fact that there is no season for them like Hurricane, Tornado and winter storm seasons.  You just never know when.

I have GOT to get my earthquake survival kit completed!  Almost done.

Thanks so much for your comments,
Bob

Bob, glad you and yours are safe. Did not know you were in the area. Used to know the folks from Chicago that owned the Hotel Del. As ever be well

  3. Babblelot says:

Oh good grief! So glad there wasn’t any damage. I remember in north Vegas watching my coffee cup hop to the edge of the table and they call those quakes ‘burps’. I didn’t like it a tall. I heard there was a quake near Japan and nother in the Indian ocean recently. Jist hope none will be in the gulf. Take care Bob and tell us what’s in the cooler, I mean survival kit.

  4. Lisa R. says:

Glad to hear the aftershocks were’nt too bad Bob. I hate hearing about the quakes out in the ocean that cause snuamies.(sp)Your friend, Lisa.

  5. Sue says:

At least we all get those little ones to remind us that the big one is still out there…Glad you weren’t damaged much! Get a move on that survival kit!

Mining in one area to build cities in another area, such as Los Angeles et surrounds (on a fault line no less), is to me much akin putting the counter balance weights on the wrong side ‘a the wheel. The earth is constantly trying to balance herself, while we constantly mess with this natural event. Are we inviting a greater number of earthquakes, and of a more destructive force than what might otherwise be??Although no particular season, is there any forewarning at all??Glad you’s are OK

  7. Sandra says:

80+ aftershocks! can’t imagine, glad you and your family are safe.
