Yep! It’s Monday!

Today started out pretty well, even for a Monday. I slept in the ‘good’ bed rather than the small, hard thing in the spare room. So glad those pumps and IVs are gone!  Nice!!
Then came a knock at the door.  A neighbor had seen someone dump a huge stray dog out of his car.  And by huge, I mean HUGE!!  But he was very gentle and frightened.  So we locked him in our yard and gave him water and food which he consumed quickly.  He was an old boy with skin problems, tumors and the pads of his feet were falling off.  We decided to keep him seperate from our dogs and called Animal Control.
They arrived two hours later and checked him for tags and a microchip, but neither.  We could see where his collar had been but the owners removed it so that Animal Control could not get their phone number.
Here are a few pics:
Finally, Animal Control showed up:
The officer told us that he would be euthanized tonight.  Sad…….
After that, I decided to hose down the sidewalk where the dog had been and accidently leaned too far into some nasty cactus. OUCH!!!!  I’m dealing with that now.  The trick is to cover the area where the tiny spines are with white glue and when it dries, just peel it off.  Works every time!
Well, the day isn’t over yet so I think I’ll just sit here and hope nothing else happens.
I hope that YOU had a great Monday!
PS:  The owner just showed up!!!!  A young guy from down the street.  They are just moving in and someone left a door open.  He has had his dog, Shay, since he was five so he’s going to pick him up now.  Hope it’s not too late.

Hope he is reunited with his family in time. I know how hard it must have been for you to call Animal Control. At least he was a good dog and didn’t try to bite you. And he had a great meal at your house too! You’re a good person, BOB!

An odd discrepancy. You’ve a neighbour claiming he saw someone “dump a huge stray dog out of his car”. Later, a young guy from down the street claims “someone left a door open”. A curiosity as to how that one plays out. Hope all is well Bob. Take good care.Ciao Fer Now …
